Chile And France Sign a Joint Declaration to Create a Bilateral Working Group

Chile and France sign a joint declaration to create a bilateral working group for the development of green hydrogen.

As part of his visit to Chile, the Delegate Minister of Foreign Trade, Attractiveness and French Abroad, Olivier Becht, met with the Minister of Energy, Diego Pardow, to engage in a bilateral political and technical exchange to address common challenges on the energy transition process and the participation of French companies in the green hydrogen industry.

At the end of this meeting, both ministers signed a joint declaration on the creation of a Bilateral Working Group on Low Carbon Hydrogen, an initiative that Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Gabriel Boric had proposed during a parallel meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, on September 20, 2022. This working group also gives operational continuity to the joint declaration on green hydrogen signed on June 30, 2021 by both nations.
