SUSI Partners Bags Debt Financing for 107 MW of DG Solar in Chile

Swiss fund manager SUSI Partners said on Thursday that it has secured debt financing for a 107-MW portfolio of solar distributed generation (DG) projects in Chile.

The firm, acting on behalf of its SUSI Energy Transition Fund (SETF), obtained an undisclosed amount of funds from the Miami branch of Chilean bank Banco de Credito e Inversiones (BCI) and Norwegian financial services group DNB.

The borrowing will pay for greenfield solar projects that SETF acquired in a package with some wind DG schemes from Chile’s BIWO Renovables back in 2021.

The projects will be entitled to stabilised off-take prices under a dedicated mechanism for small DG power plants, locally known as PMGDs.

SUSI expects the entire solar portfolio to be fully operational by the end of 2024, it said.
