CARSON, Calif. — Trinity Rodman scored in her first match wearing the captain’s armband as the U.S. women’s national team delivered a 6–0 rout of Paraguay in a friendly in Southern California. Rodman’s goal came after a Paraguay own goal helped open the floodgates. She finished one of the United States’ chances to record another international tally, celebrating in front of the bench as the crowd watched an increasingly one-sided contest unfold.
Ally Sentnor scored twice, while Reilyn Turner found the net in her national-team debut. Emma Sears also scored, as the U.S. attack repeatedly broke through Paraguay’s back line with quick movement and pressure that forced mistakes.
