Capstone Copper Corp. completed its acquisition of the San Pietro copper-gold-iron-cobalt project in Chile’s Atacama Region on Aug. 31, 2026, adding approximately 16,000 hectares to its land position between the company’s Mantoverde, Santo Domingo and Sierra Norte properties.

The acquisition was completed with total consideration of $25 million in Capstone shares. The company’s announcement and the reported completion of the transaction were both dated Aug. 31.

Resource base

San Pietro includes the Rincones and Colla deposits, which host an existing Inferred Mineral Resource of 492 million tonnes grading 0.23% copper and 0.05 grams of gold per tonne. The project is focused on copper, gold, iron and cobalt.

The transaction places the acquired project within Capstone’s existing operating and exploration land position in the Mantoverde-Santo Domingo copper district. That district contains approximately 1.6 billion tonnes of Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources and 1.4 billion tonnes of Inferred Mineral Resources, according to the research information accompanying the announcement.

Location and infrastructure

San Pietro is located between Capstone’s Mantoverde, Santo Domingo and Sierra Norte properties. The project is surrounded by key infrastructure and is at low elevation, characteristics described in the announcement as facilitating potential development.

The acquisition consolidates Capstone’s position in the Mantoverde-Santo Domingo copper district by adding the San Pietro concessions to its Atacama Region land position. The available information does not provide a development schedule, production forecast or details of further work planned for the Rincones and Colla deposits.
